An extraordinary debut

THE EDGE OF EVERYTHING
by Jeff Giles
Dial, January 2017

For seventeen-year-old Zoe, this past year has not been easy. Still reeling from her father’s shockingly sudden death in a cave diving accident and her neighbors’ mysterious disappearance from their own home, she questions if there’s anyone, or anything, she can still count on. Zoe’s mother is holding down multiple jobs just to get by, and her little brother’s ADHD is off the charts. Then… on a terrifyingly sub-zero, blizzardy night, she and her brother are brutally attacked in a cabin in the woods. Luckily, that’s when Zoe meets X for the first time. Mysterious, handsome, and tormented by a fate he doesn’t understand, X is a bounty hunter of evil souls from a special kind of hell called the Lowlands. X and Zoe were never meant to meet, but their paths cross when X comes to claim his next victim, the attacker at the cabin. Hopelessness, punishment, and pain are all X has ever known… until Zoe shows him there may be another way. But escaping his duty and the ties that bind him might mean the ultimate sacrifice for them both.
