After many years of hoping and wondering, Jay surprised us this fall with a novel tailor-made for the teens he meets and connects with throughout the year. WHAT LIGHT isn’t just about first love, it’s about human connection and what it means to see beyond a person’s history and mistakes to who they really are—and who they could be. It is thoughtful, clean, classic, romantic…like a Taylor Swift song (Red, not 1989 J). We are so thrilled to share it with you. And, after our work on this manuscript with Jay, we do believe that it is a natural extension of the issues he explored in Thirteen Reasons Why. It is a very different novel—but the underlying themes are much the same.
