Bear knows that when the last leaf falls in the forest, whatever wish you make is sure to come true! Although it’s almost time to sleep, Mama allows Bear to watch and wait with his friends.

But it seems like the leaf is never going to fall, so one by one, the other animals grow impatient and start to head home. Bear, however, finds active ways to wait, all the while wondering what to wish for—until finally, he’s the only one left, and he’s growing tired. Will Bear see the last leaf fall? And if so, what wish will he make?

A story of patience, friendship, and awe, The Wishing Leaf is a picture book full of wonder for the changing seasons, with a perfectly cozy ending.

For centuries faeries have lived safely in their ancient forests, but now their peace is under threat. Devils are escaping the prisons that have held them since the Dawn Days, and only one faerie stands in their way.

Magpie Windwitch is the greatest—the only—devil-hunter of the Age. Together with her trusted band of crows, she tracks down and recaptures these ravenous beasts that devour everything in their path.

When the hunt leads them to the legendary forest of Dreamdark, Magpie finds herself outmatched. Facing the greatest foe her kind has ever known (not to mention an imposter queen, a disgusting imp, and a young faerie warrior as infuriating as he is brave), one thing is certain: If she’s to save the world, she’ll need all the help she can get.

NANOCOSMOS de Michael Benson

A breathtaking tour of the natural world is offered in NANOCOSMOS, an examination of majestic topographies revealed by powerful scanning electron microscope (SEM) technologies.

NANOCOSMOS:
Journeys in Electron Space
by Michael Benson
Abrams, October 2025

The humbling beauty and cosmic immensity of our surrounding universe of planets, stars, and galaxies has inspired humanity since prehistoric times. But what about the vistas at the other end of the size-scale?

The tiny worlds here, invisible to our unassisted eyes, are if anything more intricate, complex, and extraordinary than anything so far seen in deep space. Lauded artist and author Michael Benson’s sensational NANOCOSMOS corrects this oversight with an unprecedented examination of natural design at sub-millimeter scales.

Nothing like NANOCOSMOS has ever been seen before. Previously renowned for his solar system landscapes, Benson here documents complex microscopic worlds visible at sub–millimeter scales in aesthetically stunning chromogenic prints. Assembled and refined over many years of painstaking work, this book constitutes a mesmerizing photographic tour of micro–worlds. These images constructed from SEM scans reveal the sublime and sensational beauty in aspects of the natural world invisible to the naked eye.

Michael Benson is an artist, writer, and filmmaker who focuses on the intersection of art and science. His highly regarded books include Beyond, Far Out, Planetfall, and Cosmigraphics. He lives in New York City.

HERE IS A BOOK d’Elisha Cooper

A love letter to books, showing how many elements and people contribute to making something beautiful, from Caldecott honoree Elisha Cooper.

HERE IS A BOOK
by Elisha Cooper
Abrams Books for Young Readers, April 2025

In this poetic and beautifully illustrated ode to creativity and the process of making books, Caldecott honoree Elisha Cooper takes readers on a journey showing how words and art move from one person to another.

From writer to reader, and everyone who contributes in between: Here is a book, made with love. An artist’s studio overflows with sketches, drafts, a wastebasket, and wonder. A publisher’s office hums with computers, layouts, coffee, and teamwork. A printer makes a layout into a book using presses, ink, paper, and time. And that book travels to a school, to a library, to a student, to a home.

Elisha Cooper is the award-winning author of many books for young readers including TrainFarmBeach8: An Animal Alphabet, and Dance!, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book. He lives with his family and two cats in New York City.
