HUNTER OF HOUSE OMARI de Zora Squish Pruitt

A debut urban fantasy with shades of Legendborn and Percy Jackson, the ancestral magic of this book is drawn from a real pantheon of African and Black diasporic gods, each with their own elemental domain.

After a mysterious fire destroys Exodus Omari’s house, she and her mom are forced to move in with her estranged, cult-ish uncle. But this isn’t the fresh start she’d hoped for, as her uncle’s secrets and a supernatural attack reveal that Exodus is godblood: a direct descendent of a Black diasporic pantheon and link between the worlds of mortals and gods—all memories that her mom erased from her mind to give her a normal life.

Her only hope to reclaim these memories, and her place in the family legacy, is to team up with a ragtag queer coven of jujuworkers. Together, she must work with her new friends to learn how to wield her rightful power—and discover who is out to get her—before the next monstrous assailant destroys her for good.
