Les Mystery Writers of America dévoilent leur sélection pour les Edgars 2016

Sept titres parmi nos représentations sont en lice pour remporter l’Edgar 2016 :

Dans la catégorie « Best First Novel », nous retrouvons PAST CRIMES de Glen Erik Hamilton, le premier volume d’une nouvelle série publiée par William Morrow.

WHIPPING BOY d’Allen Kurzweil (Harper) a été sélectionné dans la catégorie « Best Fact Crimes »

Dans la catégorie « Best Juvenile », IF YOU FIND THIS de Matthew Baker (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers) et THE BLACKTHORNE KEY de Kevin Sands, publié aux US par Aladdin et dont les droits français ont été acquis par Bayard Jeunesse, tandis que A MADNESS SO DISCREET de Mindy McGinnis (Katherine Tegen Books) est dans la short-liste de la catégorie « Young Adult ».

Enfin, pour le prix spécial « Mary Higgins Clark », LITTLE PRETTY THINGS de Lori Rader-Day, publié en juillet 2015 par Seventh Street Books.

ORPHAN X de Gregg Hurwitz : les éloges de la presse américaine

ORPHAN X, le premier livre d’une nouvelle série de thriller écrite par Gregg Hurwitz, tout juste publié aux États-Unis, n’est pas passé inaperçu :

L’Associated Press l’a qualifié de « chef-d’oeuvre » alors que le Los Angeles Times a dédié à Gregg Hurwitz un long portrait et que Patrick Anderson, journaliste au Washington Post, a été également enthousiaste.

Par ailleurs L’American Bookseller Association l’a inclus dans sa liste « Indie Next Great Reads » du mois de février et, selon les rédacteurs d’Amazon, il est l’un des meilleurs thrillers du mois de janvier.

Avant sa publication, les droits de traduction avaient été cédés dans plusieurs pays et les droits cinéma acquis par Warner Bros. !

THE BIG SHORT et SEUL SUR MARS candidats aux Oscars 2016

La liste des nominations pour la 88ème cérémonie des Oscars a été dévoilée le 14 janvier dernier. THE BIG SHORT, tiré du livre-enquête de Michael Lewis, publié en France par les éditions Sonatine sous le titre « Le Casse du Siècle », et SEUL SUR MARS, adaptation du roman d’Andy Weir, paru aux éditions Bragelonne, figurent sur les listes du meilleur film et de la meilleure adaptation !

THE BIG SHORT

Le film d’Adam McKay, qui présente un casting de rêve, est également en lice pour l’Oscar du meilleur réalisateur, meilleur montage et meilleur acteur dans un second rôle (Christian Bale).

THE MARTIAN

Avec 7 nominations au total, le film dirigé par Ridley Scott, très apprécié par les spectateurs français, concourt aussi dans les catégories meilleur acteur (Matt Damon), meilleure direction artistique, meilleur mixage sonore, meilleur montage sonore et meilleurs effets spéciaux.

L’adaptation cinématographique du roman d’Augusta Trobaugh sera présentée au Sundance Film Festival 2016, le plus important festival de cinéma indépendant américain.

Le nouveau roman de Joe Hill sera adapté au cinéma !

Comme annoncé sur Variety.com, Blastr et Deadline, Fox a acquis les droits cinématographiques du nouveau roman de Joe Hill, THE FIREMAN, que William Morrow publiera aux Etats Unis en mai 2016.

Le film sera réalisé par un français : Louis Leterrier, connu pour ses films à succès tels que « L’Incroyable Hulk », « Le Choc des Titans » et « Insaisissables » .
