Les éditions Fayard viennent d’acquérir les droits de publication de l’autobiographie de l’artiste serbe.
Comme nous l’avions annoncé le 6 février 2015, Crown Publishing a remporté les enchères aux États-Unis, et les droits ont également été cédés dans six autres pays, pour l’instant : Brésil, Allemagne, Italie, Pays Bas, Pologne et Royaume Uni.
Jack Ketchum, de son vrai nom Dallas Mayr, recevra une prestigieuse récompense pour l’ensemble de sa carrière : le Lifetime Achievement Award de la Horror Writers Association. Parmi ses prédécesseurs, on retrouve Stephen King, Richard Matheson, Peter Straun, Jon Lansdale et Ann Rice. Voici la motivation du prix :
« Jack Ketchum has been one of the premiere authors in the horror field for many years. His novel, The Girl Next Door, is considered a classic, but he’s written many other equally deeply moving works. Ketchum has won the Bram Stoker Award four times and been nominated an additional three times, showing the broad appeal to his audience. He was named the Grandmaster at the 2011 World Horror Convention. »

L’agence littéraire Sterling Lord Literistic vient d’annoncer l’accord passé avec Flatiron Books après enchères pour la publication aux États-Unis du premier livre de Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich.
Encore étudiante en droit, Alexandria se rend en Louisiane pour faire du bénévolat dans une organisation offrant à des accusés sans moyens une représentation légale. Elle travaille alors sur la condamnation à mort de Ricky Langsley, reconnu coupable d’avoir assassiné un enfant de 6 ans. La condition mentale de ce meurtrier et son passé extrêmement difficile expliquent, sans le justifier, son délit. La mère de l’enfant demandera même à la cour de ne pas infliger la peine capitale à Ricky, qui aurait besoin de soins psychiatriques. Grâce aux actes du procès, aux témoignages et articles de journaux divers, l’auteure se propose de reconstruire cette histoire, du passé de Ricky jusqu’au débat suscité par sa condamnation.
Mais ANYONE OF US n’est un « true crime » conventionnel. Car parallèlement à l’histoire de Ricky, l’auteure raconte sa propre histoire, notamment son expérience d’enfant abusé. Et au fil des pages, la vie de Ricky et la sienne se rapprochent progressivement, jusqu’à même se croiser…

C’est officiel : Crown Publishing a acquis après des enchères « enflammées » les droits nord-américains pour la langue anglaise de l’autobiographie de l’artiste serbe Marina Abramovic, considérée comme la reine de la performance. Tricia Boczkowski and Molly Stern assureront l’editing du texte.
Dès son annonce, avant même qu’il n’ait trouvé acquéreur aux États Unis, le projet a suscité l’intérêt des éditeurs du monde entier. Les droits pour la langue portugaise ont été achetés par l’éditeur brésilien Record, ceux pour la langue néerlandaise, après enchères, par Nijgh & Van et en Italie, les droits ont été préemptés par Bompiani.
